The assault resulted in the partial shutdown of the CTA tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park.

An additional two individuals are now in custody related to a theft at London's Heathrow Airport where 21 people were injured by a substance believed to be pepper spray, according to law enforcement.

A 24-year-old man, was taken into custody in the Lambeth area on suspicion of theft and assault and a woman, 23 was arrested on suspicion of conspiring to commit a robbery. Both individuals are still being held, authorities confirmed.

These detentions follow an investigation into an assault at the multi-level parking garage at Terminal 3 on Sunday. Before the attack, a pair of female travelers had stolen from them their suitcases after getting out of a car park lift.

A toddler aged three was among the injured in the event. A total of five individuals went to hospital for medical care and have since been discharged.

Officers detained a 31-year-old man for suspected theft and assault near the location. He has since been released pending further inquiries as the investigation proceeds.

Authorities were alerted at about 08:10 GMT after reports came in regarding a number of people hurt by a noxious substance believed to be an irritant spray.

The attack - an event that police said was a standalone incident and not considered terrorism - caused train delays and the temporary shutdown of the main airport tunnel and the T3 parking facility briefly.
